Welcome to our festival

2025 marks the tenth year since the Northwest Ukrainian International Festival first took place. Since its inception, this annual event has become a cherished tradition — not only for the Ukrainian community but also for the broader Washington State community.

2025 continues to be a difficult year for Ukrainians and all people of goodwill. The war, triggered by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, is still ongoing, bringing destruction and heartbreak. Yet, amid relentless missile attacks and the loss of countless innocent lives, Ukrainians remain resilient and courageous.

The cost is great, but Ukraine stands firm in defending its people, values, principles, and sovereign land. Some may question the appropriateness of holding a festival in such times of tragedy. But when is it not the right time to share our values, raise awareness of Ukraine’s struggle, build bridges with other communities, and pray for protection against evil?

We hope this year’s festival will celebrate Ukraine’s victory. But even if the fight endures, we still have every reason to come together — to celebrate the good that remains and that lies ahead, and to honor the heroes who continue to defend our future.

Ukraine has a rich history that has brought many wonderful traditions to our families, some of which we would like to share with you at the festival. It is my privilege to invite you to the event and experience many activities your family can enjoy together – from our real trout fishing pond, children’s inflatables, and sports competitions to our Ukrainian vyshyvanka dress competition and raffle, we seek to celebrate Ukrainian culture together. I trust that you will be able to have a wonderful time and enjoy beautiful music and performances, authentic Ukrainian food and drinks, and the numerous activities offered at this event.

This event was made possible together with the City of Bellevue, our sponsors, and many volunteers who have dedicated their time and resources.

Welcome to the 2025 annual NW Ukrainian International Festival!
